GUANGZHOU, China: Guangzhou, also known as the Flower Capital of China, is one of the major flower distribution hubs in China hosting two large flower markets: Lingnan Flower Market and Guangzhou Flower Expo Park. Both are in close proximity to the venue of Flower Expo China 2017 (March 13-15). The organisers of this international horticultural trade exhibition today launched a campaign at both sites to invite local floral wholesalers and other flower professionals to Flower Expo China 2017 to meet industry peers from around the world.
International attendees at the show can embark on a tour of Lingnan Flower Market and Guangzhou Flower Expo Park. As such, the trip to Guangzhou can be worthwhile affording visits to three major flower hubs
Lingnan Flower Market is located near Baiyun Airport. To get there one should take metro line 5 to Jiaokou Station and walk 110 meters to the north entrance. Covering an area of over 40,000m2 and hosting 438 flower stalls, Lingnan Flower Market is the largest flower market in Guangdong Province.
The market is divided into eight sections, covering roses, Chrysanthemums, Yunnan-grown flowers, gladioli, trimmed trees and shrubs, bonsai, saplings, birds, fish and insects. On average, its daily trade volumes reach 3 million RMB. Annually, tens of millions of fresh cut flowers and other ornamental plants from home and abroad are shipped across the country and also exported. Offering an extensive choice of worldwide floriculture and horticulture products, Lingnan has now become a gathering place for international traders.
To reach Guangzhou Flower Expo Park you’ll need to take bus No. 207 or No. 412 to Guangzhou Flower Expo Park Station. It’s a popular place that is bursting with activity and a favored destination of traders and tourists alike. Guangzhou Flower Expo Park has attracted over 380 influential enterprises from home and abroad to settle there.
It is home to Asia’s biggest and most advanced flower auction center with annual trade volumes of around 2,150 million RMB. A vital part of the site is the 50,000m2 flower market with over 500 flower shops. Two main attractions stand out. The first one is Qiqiaoyuan, a wholesale company specialising in seeds. The other highlight is Yicuiyuan, a company that hosts an extensive range of bonsai trees.
