AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands: People pay their respects at a sea of floral tributes to the 298 victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH-17 outside one of the entrances to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. It is one of the thousands of memorials across the country, both indoor and outdoor.
The plane crashed in eastern Ukraine and is believed to have been shot down. A stream of tearful mourners continue to lay flow, light candles and write notes of condolence, expressing disbelief, grief and anger.
Among the victims was a couple who ran a florist shop in Volendam. Just before boarding the ill-fated flight MH17 Cor Schilder posted a photo of the Boeing 777 on Facebook, joking ‘Just in case it diseappears’…….
