The new GRODAN website is available in English, Dutch and Polish and is primarily a source of information for growers, horticultural consultants and knowledge institutes. Apart from extensive product information, the website offers Precision Growing information and support via a dedicated Precision Growing section. This section can also be directly approached via the link www.precisiongrowing.com and offers information on Precision Growing practices, innovations and events.
The new website also acts as a platform for other GRODAN stakeholders further down the value chain. It contains a sustainability section in which the story of sustainable horticulture is told to a broad audience and in which more information can be found on the Sustainable Development Programme of GRODAN. This section can be directly approached via www.grodan.com/sustainability
The ROCKWOOL Group, the parent company of the GRODAN Group, experimented with cultivation on stone wool substrate in search of an alternative for soil and in 1969 the GRODAN Group was established. Stone wool substrate cultivation turned out to be the perfect solution at a time when many objections were being raised regarding the exhaustion of arable land. Not only did GRODAN products replace soil, crops also proved to grow extremely well on this growing medium, significantly increasing crop yield, but also decreasing water and nutrient usage. 45 years later, this is still a strong foundation for the success of GRODAN.
In future the GRODAN Group will continue to have a strong focus on innovation, further developing its Precision Growing solutions which enable closed cultivation systems and ensure that water, nutrients, energy and space are used in the most efficient and effective way possible. By doing so, the Group contributes towards the sustainable production of healthy, safe and tasty fresh produce for consumers.
The GRODAN Group supplies innovative and sustainable stone wool substrate solutions for the professional horticultural sector, based on Precision Growing principles. These solutions are, among others, applied for the cultivation of vegetables and flowers, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, eggplants, roses and gerberas. Stone wool substrates are offered together with tailor-made advice and tools to support Precision Growing and therefore facilitate the sustainable production of healthy, safe and tasty fresh produce for consumers. Sustainability plays a prominent role within the Group, from the manufacture of stone wool substrates to end-of-life solutions. GRODAN is a part of the ROCKWOOL Group.
Founded in 1969, the GRODAN Group is active in more than sixty countries worldwide. The Group’s head office is in Roermond, the Netherlands
