OSTEND, Belgium, June 12, 2012: The Royal Union of Belgian Florists (RUBF) today announced the Bloom flower show will be held from July 7-9, 2012. The magnificent coastal scenery of Ostend, one of Belgium’s most popular coastal towns, will provide the spectacular backdrop of what is already believed to be the country’s most important floral rendezvous.
Packed with ideas on how to make the most of your own bouquet, garden or floral arrangement, the show combined specialty flowers, seafront show gardens, a miniature bay laurel festival and creativity, featuring two tension-filled floral design competitions for both amateurs and professionals.
BLOOM provides an excellent opportunity for florists to show their floral art to a large audience.
The Thermae Palace Hotel in Ostend has been chosen as the venue for the indoor presentations. The interior of this grand building echoes a royal atmosphere and is therefore ideally suited for the presentation of extraordinary floral art. The Thermae Palace Hotel used to be the coastal resort of the Belgian royal family. BLOOM will turn this impressive building into a lush green oasis, with over 100 floral arrangements which will be prepared under the guidance of the well-known master florist (www.floristiek.com), Stef Adriaenssens.
Did you ever see a beach in full bloom? BLOOM gives you the opportunity to witness firsthand how the RUBF florists create a flower miracle on the beach of Ostend. A series of show gardens, a lounge area, an orchard and ponds of all sorts have been scheduled.
On the occasion of Bloom, hundreds of flower arrangements in oriental style will adorn Ostend’s famous Japanese garden which is also dubbed as the Shin Kai Tei garden.
