Whether you’re a grower, wholesaler, retailer, importer or supplier you’ll find lots to learn, share, and enjoy together at SAF Phoenix 2009. Hundreds of inventive and experienced floral industry business owners and managers, as well as experts from every segment of floriculture flock to the SAF Convention every year to recharge their business batteries with fresh ideas from the cutting-edge educational sessions, speakers and their peers.
The program this year includes dynamic new sessions like an expanded Idea Swap, hands-on tech training where you’ll bring your laptop and learn to build business through social media and how to use free Google tools to improve your website’s productivity, a growers’ roundtable, and some merchandising and design sessions that’ll knock your socks off!
In other sessions, retailers can learn how to forecast sales and build displays that do the selling for them. Wholesalers and growers can learn new ways to capture customers. And everyone will take home tips from our new finance session on how to find "hidden money" with unique ways to cut operation costs
There are two sales training programs — one for retailers and the other for wholesalers, suppliers, importers and growers. A session on business acquisition will be right on the mark for companies looking to expand their reach. The sympathy business program once again includes a funeral director on its panel and the color trends workshop will point you in the right direction for the coming year and beyond.
Of course, no SAF convention would be complete without the Sylvia Cup Design Competition (the "iron chef" of the floral industry), the magnificent displays of the Outstanding Varieties Competition — where growers show off their best crops and wholesalers and retailers can see the finest product on the market this year. Then there’s the Premier Product Showcase, a fast-paced show-n-tell session where you’ll discover innovative new products that will revolutionize the way you do business.
On the social side, registration attendees will enjoy two lovely dinners — the exciting and enjoyable Industry Awards Dinner and Saturday night’s fabulous President’s Banquet; and three fabulous receptions — including SAF’s 125th Anniversary celebration; plus three breakfasts before the morning sessions.
You work hard. And you’ll more than pay for your trip with the business-building ideas you’ll gather and the connections you’ll make throughout the convention. Why not also take some time to indulge your spirit and energize your mind in a lovely, unique location. The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass is located on the ancient Gila River Indian Community. Every aspect of the property celebrates the art, legends, architecture and and design of the Pima and Maricopa tribes. Just being there is an experience you won’t want to miss.
