A large part of the world trade in flowers, plants and tree nursery products takes place via The Netherlands. The FloraHolland Flower Auction is the market leader, and the central hub of the international ornamental flower and plant trade. Every day, more than 44 million cut flowers and almost five million indoor and garden plants find their way to consumers via one of the exporters who buy their products at the FloraHolland market places. FloraHolland is the world’s largest flower auction organisation. Every day, the entire range of flowers and plants from The Netherlands and all other production countries in the world is sold here.
FloraHolland has six auction locations that are situated right in the middle of the main Dutch production regions. Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg are the three export auctions of FloraHolland. That’s where the main Dutch exporters have established themselves, exporting flowers and plants to, among others, the Russian market. The regional auctions of FloraHolland are in Bleiswijk, Venlo and Eelde and focus on the wholesale and retail trade in The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
