ZUNDERT, Netherlands: Organisers of GrootGroenPlus (GGP), the world’s premier amenity plant show, announce that preparations continue ahead of its planned date of 30 September-2 October. An official application for a trade show permit is now underway and would allow for a physical trade show in line with Covid-19 outbreak-related safety measures and guidelines.

There is a lot of uncertainty about rescheduling trade shows. A significant number of events have been cancelling while other trade shows are announcing a hybrid format developing a physical trade show next to an online event.

However, GGP organisers continue to stick to their physical trade shows explaining that despite the growing list of trade show cancellations around the globe, there continues to be a  demand for face-to-face meetings and physical trade shows.

The official event ban in the Netherlands will begin to end on 31 August. In case the prohibition of events continues after 1 September, or if another peak hits the Netherlands in Covid-19 infections, the 30th edition of GrootGroenPlus will not be moved to a later moment this year. Instead, if this eventuality occurs, it be set on 6-8 October 2021.

Exhibitors need to register as soon as possible. These registrations are essential to creating an  adjusted layout; due to the required amendments, this year’s GGP’s show floor can accommodate 175 stands, instead of 250.

To date, GGP has attracted a reasonable level of bookings with over 100 exhibitors applying to attend. If a physical trade fair proves to be impossible before 1 September, participation will automatically postpone to 2021. In that case, participants do not have to pay anything for this year’s edition. At this moment, the prospects, and developments regarding easing of the measures seem to be quite positive.

Now that European countries have started to relax travel restrictions, the trip to GGP has become less complicated for industry professionals. Registration for the show will open soon. This year, this access will be within a limited time frame and with safety instructions.
