NANTES, France: Nearly eighteen months since the AIPH-approved Floralies Internationales Nantes closed its doors,  its organising committee has posted a 5.14 minute video that takes viewers back to the show’s 12th edition that took place from 8-19 May, 2019.

The video starts with some fast-edited footages of the show’s grand opening on 7 May 2019 conducted by Mayor Mayor Johanna Rolland, and other highlights including the Défilé Florale, the Best Stand Awards, floral design competitions, model gardens and Naturya The Musical, touted the first flower-themed musical in the world.

At the 2019 Floralies the human life cycle came to life: themed areas recalled innocent and worry-free infancy, adolescence, third age maturity and late adulthood when spiritual concerns take front stage.

Many designs were based on foreign horticulture with a creation of Niigata city inspired by Japanese gardens while other exhibits echoed the atmosphere of One Thousand and One Nights such as the award-winning garden from Pakistan. Bedouin tents provided inspiration for the desert garden design from Qatar.

The 10-day event brought poetry, foreign horticulture and flowers together.

Laurent Gounelle, an internationally renowned author (The Man who Wanted to be Happy)  was parrain  (godfather) of the 12th Floralies show.
