ISTANBUL, Turkey: Interest in the Flower Show Istanbul/Eurasia Plant Fair, held November 24-27 at the Istanbul Fair Centre, continued to be strong, with demand for space remaining relatively stable, although this year the show’s sales team was undoubtedly faced with a tougher job than usual due to the wave of terrorism, the failed military coup and political instability that swept the country recently.
Despite the challenging business environment the show organisers did a very good job, utilizing their many years of experience, extensive international network of business contacts and personal approach, with the familiar faces of Hakan Yuksel and Mustafa Gültekin Gökgül providing true customer relations.
Taking centre stage at the 6th edition of Turkey’s premier horticultural trade show was a wide range of nursery stock products from home and abroad. Dutch flower auction Royal FloraHolland was on hand to reinforce the first word in the event’s brand name.
Despite all the turmoil, the Flower Show Istanbul/Eurasia Plant Fair showed a great deal of optimism for the future. Walking the aisles, one could literally feel the pulse of progress. The three-day event is THE place for the professional horticultural, floricultural and landscaping sectors, attracting hundreds of international and local suppliers showcasing thousands of exciting new products e.g. from the latest varieties of ornamental plants to innovative new breeding, planting, growing and harvesting technologies
On the evening of November 24th, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Istanbul, the Palais de Hollande, hosted a cocktail reception to network and socialise after the show. It was the place where fashion met flowers with Dutch fashion designer Edwin Oudshoorn showcasing his gowns.
This year’s event hosted over 300 exhibiting companies from around the world and 15,000 trade show visitors who saw a comprehensive range of the very latest offerings from the leading international and local suppliers. This year exhibits came from Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, U.K., U.S.A. and, of course, Turkey.
