inspiration-plantarium-2016BOSKOOP, The Netherlands: Jan Willem Griep, chairman of Europe’s leading international nursery stock trade fair, Plantarium, today announced a major overhaul of the event.

The Plantarium 3.0. plan, spearheaded by event organiser Proba, includes a brand new layout and feature areas. The ultimate goal is to create an ‘inspiration platform’ where industry professionals and people from outside the business, with a shared passion for greenery, meet and exchange ideas and research findings.

Meanwhile a think-tank of industry experts has been established to answer the question of  whether the Plantarium show is hip enough to attract a younger generation. “We invite young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are working/ studying in the ornamental horticulture and gardening industry to run their own green festival in conjunction with Plantarium,” said Griep.

Experiences will be shared with the Urban Greeners from Floriade 2022, who organised the first GROW festival in Almere last September. The ‘festival boss for a day’ registration form will be available in January on the Plantarium website.

The organisers emphasized that, above all, Plantarium will remain a plant-focused show, packed with new products and services.

Bookings for the 35th Plantarium show are coming in thick and fast. The show will be held from August 23-26, 2017 at the International Trade Centre Boskoop-Hazerswoude. For more information please visit
