logo-tempANGERS, France: The Maine-et-Loire department is known for being the cradle of specialized plant production, be it ornamental, fruit trees or wine growing, but also seeds and medicinal plants, amongst others. Addressing the horticulture industry’s need for new growth opportunities, the city of Angers will host Plant Event which covers the entire spectrum of ornamental horticulture. Plant Event is set for February 22 to 23, 2017.

The concept distinguishes itself from traditional trade shows in that it offers a mix of think-tank, living lab and creative scenery. Its purpose is to build a 360° view of ornamental plants, covering a wide array of topics: living environment, urban revegetation and farming, nutrition, health and well-being, plant–based engineering and bio-sourced products.

It will also explore new ways of selling plants to younger customers and people that usually do not buy or use plants.

Plant Event will host four themed areas: A central creative scenography, featuring various plants for diverse usages and displays.

The Innovation space, with a co-creation living lab and student contest, to investigate and propose answers to consumer needs or expectations not properly addressed currently.

Conferences and workshops to give an overview of emerging trends and needs in terms of consumption, purchase habits and diversification usages.

A business exhibition floor, with various packages offered to companies interested in displaying their latest innovations.
