trade_show_greenislife_polaWARSAW, Poland: Green is Life, THE meeting place for all professionals involved in ornamental horticulture and horticulture technology, is set to take place at Warsaw’s EXPO XXI convention centre from September 1-3. The lay out for the trade fair has been revamped with, for the first time, a prominent spot for fresh cut flowers and floristry supplies. Organized by the Polish Nurserymen Association and Agencja Promocji Zieleni, the three-day event is the fundamental point of reference for the Polish market.

Now in its 24th year, Green is Life is expected to gather 300 exhibitors from home and abroad.  True to tradition exhibitors and visitors from Europe, South America, Africa and Asia will come to see the latest products and services in ornamental horticulture. “We will see the largest nursery stock offer in Central Europe, as well as cut flowers, potted plants and products for florists. Green is Life visitors include growers, plant distributors and buyers, designers and contractors of greenery and persons responsible for public greenery. This year they will be joined by a wider than ever group of florists, flower sellers, wholesalers, distributors – from Poland and abroad,” said the organisers.

One of Green is Life’s flagship product groups is nursery stock produce – trees, shrubs, perennials, vines and ornamental grasses –  displayed by nearly 150 companies. The largest group are Polish companies, including those associated in the Polish Nurserymen Association, which co-organizes the fair. In addition, the show will host a strong contingent of Dutch, German, French, Belgian and Danish growers. Making their debut at Green is Life are a sizeable number of new firms specialising in young plant material of ornamental and fruit plants. Those looking for partners and suppliers of tree material, shrubs, perennials, vines, grasses, roses, berry- and other fruit plants, as well as Christmas trees will not be disappointed.

The fair will see companies offering machine equipment to improve production, pots, tunnels, vehicles, packaging, products for plant protection and care, fertilizers, logistics and sales support. Exhibitors will also show furnishings of green areas and gardens – decorations, furniture, pavement materials, small architecture, software, and publications.

The show will be bursting with activity with the crowd pulling Green Laurel Product and the Plant Novelties Competitions, the only competition in Poland featuring new varieties to the market, also the place of world premieres. The jury decision will be announced during the official opening on Thursday, 1 September at 10.00.

The New floral sector at the Exhibition located in Hall 4, named FLOWER EXPO POLAND, is an expansion of the plant offer. Cut flowers, pot plants, floral decorations and accessories in a wide and international format for the first time ever.  60 exhibitors from Europe (the Netherlands, Germany, Poland), South America (Colombia, Ecuador), Africa (Kenya, Uganda, South Africa) and Asia (China, Thailand, India) have confirmed their attendance. In addition to the actual displays, there will be shows by floristry masters over the three day event – presentations by Poles and foreigners as well as expert lectures.

A diverse program that deals with current problems of the industry is a fundamental characteristic and value of Green is Life, yet one more reason to be present in Warsaw. This year’s proposals include seminars ,,Knowledge for sellers” and  ,,Knowledge for producers” (Thursday, 1 September), with a program involving legal issues, personnel management, supply management at garden centers, in addition to marketing, transportation and logistics.  A conference is also in the works:  “Firm  green city” for managers of urban greenery (Friday 2 September). Luc Behar-Bannelier  will be the special guest of the ‘Landscape Architect Day” – a seminar scheduled for 3 September. He is the Department Director for Development and  the Environment, Disneyland Paris – managing 2,000 hectares of greenery in this most famous amusement park.

To be held during the first two days of the exhibition and dedicated to professionals. Saturday will be open to the public – amateurs and enthusiasts,  persons interested in new plants and products and those searching for information and inspiration.
