The seminar takes place after the Classiflora-Zelari 2014 open day and will enable landscapers to compare and share ideas and listen to a programme full of expert advice designed to help their business grow, complemented by tangible success stories from APL members.
Glyn Edwards, of Croner will talk through the steps of how to become VAT registered to enable your business to expand. Glyn had seven years’ experience with Customs & Excise before joining Croner in 1996. He spent five years answering helpline queries before becoming a consultant dealing with VAT disputes. Vice Chair of the APL, Paul Baker of Holland Landscapes will then provide first hand examples of going through the VAT registration process has benefited his business.
A further step towards business growth is becoming a limited company. APL member David Sewell, of The Gardenmakers Ltd will share his experience of this, explaining when and why he decided to take this step, and how he went about it, along with hints and tips for the audience to take away.
For the first time, the seminar will also include an interactive panel session comprising a host of APL members representing a range of business sizes to discuss their experiences and answer questions relating to expanding their businesses. The panel will include Norman Hambrook, Hambrooks, David Sewell, The Gardenmakers Ltd, David Dodd, The Outdoor Room Ltd and George Cook, Rural Landscape Construction.
The event, which promises to be both lively and informative will run from 4pm-7.45pm and includes buffet and refreshments along with ample networking time to discuss topics raised.
