AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands, September 4, 2012: Horti Fair chairman, Ewald van Vliet today announced that Frans Peter Dechering, general manager of Horti Fair, is to retire with immediate effect. Dechering’s’ departure is due to “irreconcilable differences of view over policy’.
Frans-Peter Dechering became the new director of the International Horti Fair on 1 January 2011. As such he succeeded Wim van der Loo, who was retiring.
Frans-Peter Dechering brought with him a long international experience in the horticultural industry building up a large network of contacts in both the vegetable and floriculture sectors and among suppliers to Dutch and foreign horticulture firms. As an interim manager in plant breeding and technology companies he was closely involved in standardisation in floriculture and he advised production companies and international e-business consortiums.
Dechering has built up a good management team and will be leaving the Horti Fair in the capable hands of interim director, Willem Luuk Nijdam.
