ALEXANDRIA, USA, June 30, 2012: The American Floral Endowment (AFE) will hold its annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the beautiful Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla. in conjunction with the Society of American Florists convention. The event invites retail florists, wholesalers, growers, and other industry members to unite for a common goal: ensuring the future of the industry through research, grants, and scholarships.
Last year, more than 200 industry members attended the dinner and over $275,000 in donations was raised. Herman and LaDonna Meinders presented AFE with a $250,000 check, which has been used to create AFE’s first unrestricted named fund.
The success of the event is due largely to the sponsors who lend their names and financial support to the event. Sponsorships help AFE offset the fundraising dinner expenses, allowing more funding for research, grants and scholarships.
AFE needs your support now more than ever! With your help, it is possible to exceed the fundraising goal from last year’s dinner. AFE-funded research and scholarships help all segments of the industry thrive, and we need your support to continue the great work! Past AFE research has led to vital advancements such as the invention of the cold chain and techniques for improving the vase life of flowers.
To register for the September 20th dinner, or become a sponsor, please contact Debi Aker at email@example.com or (703) 838-5211. Sponsors receive preferred seating at the dinner and are recognized at the dinner, on the AFE website, in a press release and in the AFE Bulletin.
