‘River Mist’ received the highest score and, in addition to winning a Gold Medal, was also voted Best Innovation.
The award was handed out by the chairman of the Koninklijke Vereniging voor Boskoopse Culturen, Dick Nieuwesteeg to Henk de Jong. The plant was entered for the innovations competition by CNB Green Team New Plants in Lisse/ Stauden Peters.
The jury described Chasmantium latifolium ‘River Mist’as ‘a truly innovative product. It is the first variegated Chasmantium and it grows well in shadowy and damp conditions. The reddish hue of the shoots add decorative value. The plant is sturdy, retains its compactness and does not stool’.
