While the press jury was very enthusiastic about the presentation of some of the entries, it was critical of others, remarking that greater attention to presentation was exactly what was required to make the total package more attractive to consumers.
The jury was made up by journalists from Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The jury described ‘Pink Turtle’as : ‘a spectacular, abundantly flowering plant. With a clearly defined structure and strong stems. A visually attractive plant that is suitable both for professional landscaping and the retail channel.’
Loropetalum chinensis ‘Black Pearl’from Ronald Roos took the second prize, Viva la Vida the third prize.
